Privacy Policy
StepsToMiles is a calculator. It does not need to know who you are, and it is built so that it does not have to.
What we do not collect
There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no newsletters. We do not ask for your name, email address, date of birth or any health information. The step counts, heights and stride lengths you type into the converter are processed in your browser to update the page and are not transmitted to us or stored anywhere.
What is recorded automatically
Like almost every website, our server keeps standard access logs. A log entry can include your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, your browser's user agent string and the referring page. These logs exist to keep the site running and secure, to diagnose faults and to detect abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not sold or shared for marketing.
Cookies
The site sets an essential session cookie required by the software it runs on. It carries no advertising or cross-site tracking function. We do not run advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. If that changes, this page will be updated before the change goes live.
Third parties
Some assets used to render pages, such as stylesheets, fonts and JavaScript libraries, are served from public content delivery networks. When your browser fetches one, that network necessarily sees your IP address and user agent, in the same way any site you visit does. We have no control over, and receive no data from, those requests.
Children
The site is a general-audience reference tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held about you. Because we do not hold personal data beyond short-lived server logs, in practice there is usually nothing to retrieve or erase. If you want to make a request anyway, contact the site owner and we will respond.
Changes to this policy
If the way the site handles data changes, this page will be revised to describe the new position. Continuing to use the site after a revision means accepting the updated policy.
